High Standards of Veterinary Excellence in Sonora

At Live Oak Veterinary Hospital, we hold ourselves to a higher standard when it comes to our services for our patients and clients. We know the special role pets play in families and how important it is they receive high-quality care. That’s why we sought accreditation with the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) in the spring of 2017. It was not an easy feat, but we’re pleased to say we are now an AAHA-accredited practice!

What AAHA Is

AAHA is a veterinary organization which was established in 1933 by veterinary professionals to help other veterinary professionals provide their patients with the best possible care. To do this, the association created approximately 900 standards of veterinary care, including the areas of surgery, client services, technology, record keeping, and facility cleanliness.

Any veterinary hospital in the U.S. or Canada can be voluntarily evaluated based on these standards (accreditation is NOT mandatory). If the hospital passes the inspection, it is awarded the “AAHA accredited” status. Just 12-15% of veterinary practices are AAHA accredited, and we’re proud to be one of them.

How AAHA Benefits You and Your Pet

Being an AAHA-accredited practice means we give your pet our absolute best because we believe they deserve nothing less. It also means we abide by AAHA’s strict guidelines and position statements to help more pets live long, happy, healthy lives. These guidelines were developed to equip veterinary professionals with the latest information in dentistry, surgery, at-home care, and weight management, among other areas of veterinary medicine. Safety is a major aspect of AAHA’s protocols, so you can be confident we use only the safest techniques with our services.
